It all began with a competition from Posh Papers in Australia..They wanted me to use one of their prints and when I saw this image I was floored It was a doppelgänger of my friend and mentor Tricia Scott.!! So I gave it my absolute all.. First was the reverse decoupage on the glass door, followed by steampunk clocks on the inside of the door.
Elderberry sand a soft Ash black stripes both from Fusion Mineral paint. With a touch of steampunk on the corners. I used a crackle technique both on the door frames and the drawer on the inside and it is gawgeous even if I say so myself.. The top and inside hood was done with a mixture of gold and burgundy waxes to complement the colors front the decoupage paper.
Then came the fun part.. 3d steampunk gears painted black and crackled with gold…what could you ask for?? Well I did attach a chain from one gear to another for that finishing touch!! I am so proud of this piece and can’t wait to see where it will end up!!
